Theodore Ernest Els is a South African professional golfer. Former No. 1 in the world, he is known as "The Big Easy" for his strong physique and smooth golf shots. Of the 71 victories in his career, there are four major championships: the 1994 US Open at Oakmont and 1997 at the Congregation, and the 2002 Open Championship at Muirfield and 2012 at Royal Lytham & St Annes. He is one of six golfers to win the US Open and the Open Championship twice. Other highlights of Els' career include winning the 2003 and 2004 European tour Duchies and winning a World Championship seven times per game. He was the main silver prize winner of his European Tour career until he was surpassed by Lee Westwood in 2011, and was the first tour member to earn more than € 25,000,000 from European Tour events.
